5Boro
Founded in 1996 by Steve Rodriguez in the heart of New York City, 5Boro NYC is a legendary brand that lives up to its name, representing the city's five boroughs. Bucking short-lived trends, 5Boro has stayed true to its roots: an authentic New York aesthetic, graphics heavily inspired by urban imagery, and a skate culture built on hard work ("The Daily Grind"). Their decks, renowned for their strength and outstanding pop, are a top choice for skaters who appreciate East Coast style and the reliability of an independent brand that has seen and done it all. Experience the NYC vibe with our complete skateboards.
5Boro NYC : The Spirit of New York Street Skateboarding
New York City is undeniably one of the most raw and inspiring grounds for skateboarding. Against a backdrop of concrete, rough asphalt, and iconic spots, 5Boro forged its distinct identity. Unlike West Coast brands, 5Boro has always embraced a grittier approach to skate culture: no need for sunny beaches—just a board, rough sidewalks, and pure determination. Backed by a team of charismatic riders and artwork blending NYC pop imagery with an underground punk attitude, the brand has become a true institution for street skateboarding purists.
Hardware Built for Real Street Conditions
5Boro doesn't make decks meant for display walls; they are built to take a beating. The brand maintains high manufacturing standards to withstand the heavy demands of daily street skating in an unforgiving urban environment.
Here is what you'll find in the 5Boro collection available at our shop :
- Premium Canadian Maple Construction : 5Boro decks are pressed from 7 plies of high-grade Canadian maple, offering optimal stiffness and a lively pop that won't fade after weeks of heavy sessions. Ideal for skaters looking for instant board response. Discover all our skateboard decks.
- Versatile East Coast Shapes : True to tradition, 5Boro boards often feature steep concaves that provide maximum control for flip tricks while remaining wide enough to ensure solid stability for street and stair sessions.
- Authentic City Graphics : 5Boro's visual identity is a tribute to NYC. From classic logos to artist series paying homage to local boroughs, skyscrapers, and street life, every board tells a story. It's a timeless style that signals deep respect for street skating history.
- Durability and Reliability : 5Boro's reputation relies on producing decks resistant to chipping and premature wear. It's a trusted brand for skateboarders looking to invest in long-lasting hardware without paying the inflated prices of mass-market brands.
