Why Hardware is Crucial for Your Setup

Mounting your trucks on your skateboard deck might seem like a formality, but using unsuitable hardware is a classic mistake that can weaken your deck or ruin your session. Selection Criteria: Length and Head Type

The choice of hardware depends on two criteria: screw length and head profile.

• 7/8" or 1": The standard for a "flat" mount, without riser pads.
• 1" to 1 1/8": The ideal size if you use thin riser pads to absorb shocks or prevent "wheel bite".
• 1 1/4" and up: Reserved for setups with thick riser pads for bowl or cruising riders.
• Allen Head (Hex): The modern standard, much more resistant to wear and easy to tighten without slipping.
• Phillips Head: The vintage choice. Be careful, the imprint tends to wear out more quickly over time and with friction.
